James Francois Pitot

Born in Normandy, France. After his 1796 arrival in Spanish held Louisiana, he prospered as a merchant and became Mayor of New Orleans 1804-1805.

Edward Taylor Shepard

Edward Taylor Shepard

Served as doctor in the Civil War and later went to Vienna, Austria studying nervous and insanity diseases. He was acknowledged as an authority in these feelds. He also served as surgeon in many of the orphanages in New Orleans.
